CareDays app & website
Terms of use
Last updated:
These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and CareDays, built and operated by Zhivko Dinev, an independent developer based in Bulgaria (“we”, “us”). They cover the CareDaysmobile app for iOS (and Android, when released) (“the app”) and the caredays.app website. By installing or using the app, or by using the website, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use CareDays.
1. Who can use CareDays
CareDays is intended for adults: you must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country, and in any case at least 16 years old. If you downloaded the app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; if you downloaded it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. Where those store terms and these terms differ, these terms apply to the extent the store terms allow.
2. What CareDays is
CareDays offers educational content about the menstrual cycle written for partners, and one small, caring suggestion each day matched to the phase your partner may be in. Everything the app says about how she may feel is an estimate and a generalisation: every person and every cycle is different, and the app repeatedly reminds you that the best way to know what she needs is to ask her. The cycle is a guide, not a script.
3. What CareDays is not
- It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing in the app replaces a conversation with a qualified healthcare professional.
- It must not be used for contraception, conception planning, or any health decision. Phase estimates are approximate and may be wrong, especially with irregular cycles.
- It is not a health tracker for your partner and is not designed to record symptoms, and it is not a substitute for professional help in an emergency.
4. Using CareDays respectfully
The app works with information about another person, so how you use it matters to us. You agree to:
- use CareDays openly, with your partner’s knowledge — ideally set it up together;
- not use it, or anything you learn from it, to monitor, control, manipulate, pressure, or deceive anyone;
- delete the information you entered if your partner asks you to (Settings → Delete all data does this instantly);
- enter only information you are entitled to record, and keep it accurate.
You are responsible for the information you choose to enter and for who can access your phone.
5. Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the app or its content, except where the law expressly allows it. The app, its design, and all of its text and content are protected by copyright and remain our property.
6. Premium subscription, free trial, and billing
CareDays has a free plan that never expires and requires no account, and an optional Premium plan sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple’s App Store or Google Play:
- Monthly: USD 6.99 per month.
- Annual: USD 44.99 per year (about USD 3.75 a month).
Prices are shown in your local currency inside the app and the store, set according to Apple’s and Google’s regional price tiers, so the exact amount may differ from the US dollar figures above and may include local taxes. The price displayed at the moment you subscribe is the one that applies.
Free trial. Both plans start with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers (one trial per Apple ID or Google account, subject to the store’s eligibility rules). If you cancel during the trial you are not charged. When the trial ends, the subscription converts to the paid plan you chose unless you cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account. If a price increases, the store notifies you in advance and, where the law requires it, asks for your consent; you can cancel before the new price takes effect.
Cancelling. You manage and cancel the subscription in your store account, not in the app: on iPhone under Settings → your name → Subscriptions (or the App Store app → your profile → Subscriptions); on Android in the Play Store app → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. After cancelling, Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then the app returns to the free plan; nothing you entered is deleted.
Refunds. Because Apple or Google is the merchant, refunds are decided and issued by them under their policies — request one through Apple’s “Report a Problem” page or Google Play’s refund process. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, and we never receive your payment details.
Restoring. Your subscription is tied to your store account. On a new device, or after reinstalling, use “Restore purchases” in the app (Settings → Subscription or on the Premium screen) while signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account. Your cycle and profile data are stored only on the device and are not part of the subscription (see section 7).
We will always keep the essentials free: editing your cycle details, the free plan’s daily care idea and reminder, and deleting your data.
7. Your data
Everything you enter is stored only on your device and encrypted; we have no copy and cannot recover it if you delete the app, lose your phone, or reset the app. Keeping a backup of your phone is your responsibility. Subscription purchases are verified through RevenueCat using an anonymous ID and nothing else, exactly as described in the Privacy policy. Our Privacy policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information and forms part of these terms.
8. Changes and availability
We may update, change, or discontinue features of the app or website at any time, and we may release updates that you need to install for the app to keep working. We aim to keep the app available but do not guarantee that it will be free of interruptions or errors.
9. No warranties
The app and website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that suggestions will suit you or your partner. Relationship suggestions are general ideas; use your own judgement about what is right for the two of you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from decisions you make based on the app’s content, from lost data, or from your inability to use the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim (which, while the app is free, is nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using CareDays at any time by deleting your data in Settings and uninstalling the app. We may end your licence if you materially breach these terms — in particular section 4 — and sections 5, 9, 10, and 12 continue to apply after the agreement ends.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria and applicable European Union law. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or elsewhere, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. EU consumers can also use the European Commission’s online dispute-resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. The “Last updated” date above will change, and for material changes we will let you know inside the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
