For bugs, it helps to include your phone model, its OS version, and what you tapped just before the problem. Please don’t send anything you entered into the app — we don’t need it, and we’d rather not have it.

Because all of your data lives only on your phone, we can’t look anything up on our side or recover deleted data — but we can help with everything else.

Frequently asked questions

Getting started

How does CareDays work?
You enter the start date of your partner's last period plus her average cycle and period length. From that, the app estimates which phase she may be in and gives you one small, caring idea each day — the “care of the day” — matched to that phase (and, with Premium, to what you've told it she loves). The Guide tab explains each phase in plain language: what may be happening, how she may feel, and how to support her.
What do I need to enter, and what if I don't know the exact dates?
Only three things: the date her last period started, her usual cycle length, and her usual period length. If you're not sure, ask her — it's a good first conversation to have about the app — or enter your best guess and adjust it later in Settings → Edit cycle details. Everything else (her name, favorite foods and drinks, activities, the ways she likes to receive care) is optional and only makes the daily ideas more personal.
Does my partner need to install anything?
No. CareDays is an app for you, the partner. There is no account, no pairing, and nothing for her to install. The best setup is simply doing it together on your phone.
Is this a period tracker?
No. CareDays doesn't record symptoms or track her body. It's a guide for you: an estimate of where she may be in her cycle, translated into one caring thing you can do today. The app treats the cycle as a guide, never a prediction — it will keep reminding you that the best way to know what she needs is to ask her.

Openness and consent

Should she know I'm using it?
Yes. CareDays is designed to be used openly — ideally set up together with her — and our terms ask you to use it that way. It isn't a tool for monitoring anyone: it exists to help you show up with more care. Most partners find that saying “I got an app to understand your cycle better — can we set it up together?” is the whole point.
What if she asks me to delete it?
Then delete it. Settings → Delete all data erases everything on the spot, and uninstalling the app does the same. There are no copies anywhere else, so once it's gone from your phone it's gone.

Privacy and your data

Where is my data stored? Does it sync to the cloud?
Everything stays on your phone, in a database the app encrypts with a key kept in your phone's secure storage (the iOS Keychain). There is no cloud sync, no account, and no server of ours that ever receives it — we cannot see what you enter. If you get a new phone, the app starts empty and you enter the details again.
How do I delete my data?
Open the Settings tab, scroll to Privacy, and tap Delete all data. After you confirm, the app wipes its database and encryption key and returns to the welcome screen. Uninstalling the app also removes all of its data. Either way, deletion is immediate and permanent — we hold no backups and cannot restore anything.
Does the app collect analytics or show ads?
No. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking software. It connects to the internet for two things only: to verify your Premium subscription with the store (through RevenueCat, which sees a random purchase ID and nothing you entered) and when you tap a link that opens caredays.app in your browser. Its App Store privacy label lists only Purchase History and an anonymous User ID, marked “not linked to you”.

Reminders

How do I change the reminder time or turn reminders off?
Settings → Reminders. You can pick the time of the daily care idea (8:30 by default) and switch each kind of reminder — daily idea, phase-change heads-up, period-approaching heads-up — on or off separately. You can also disable notifications for the app entirely in your phone's system settings.
Reminders aren't arriving. What can I check?
First, Settings → Reminders: if the app says reminders are turned off in your system settings, tap Open system settings and allow notifications for CareDays. On iPhone, also check Focus modes and Scheduled Summary. Reminders are scheduled on the phone itself, so opening the app every week or two keeps the schedule topped up.
What do reminders say? Could someone see something private on my lock screen?
Reminder text is deliberately generic — for example “Today's care idea is ready”. It never includes her name, dates, phase names, or anything you entered, so nothing personal shows on your lock screen. You'll never get more than one reminder a day.

Accuracy and health

How accurate are the phase estimates?
They're estimates based on the dates and lengths you enter, and cycles naturally vary — some more than others. Treat the phase as an orientation, not a fact, and update the last period date in Settings whenever you learn it. If her cycle is irregular, the estimates will be rougher, and asking her will always beat the app.
Is CareDays medical advice? Can it be used for contraception?
No, on both counts. CareDays offers educational and relationship-support content only. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat anything, and must never be used for contraception, conception planning, or any health decision. If something seems severe, persistent, or concerning, please talk to a qualified healthcare professional.

Premium subscription

What's in Premium, and what stays free?
The free plan always gives you the current phase, the essentials of every phase in the Guide, one care idea a day in its general wording, and the daily reminder. Premium adds Her Profile and care ideas shaped around her — her favorites in the wording, and how she likes to receive care steering which ideas you get — a second idea whenever the first doesn't fit, the full library of ideas for every phase, the deeper guide (what to avoid, difficult days, insights), and the heads-up reminders before a phase change or her period.
How does the 7-day free trial work?
Choose a plan and confirm with the store — nothing is charged for 7 days. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you pay nothing. Otherwise the subscription starts automatically at the price shown when you signed up ($6.99 a month or $44.99 a year, in your local currency). The trial is available once per Apple ID.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are managed by the App Store, not inside the app. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → CareDays → Cancel (or the App Store app → your profile → Subscriptions). Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription in the app takes you straight there. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Nothing is deleted. Everything you entered stays on your phone exactly as it was, and Premium keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. After that the app simply returns to the free plan: you still see the current phase, the Guide essentials, one care idea a day, and the daily reminder; Her Profile, personalized ideas, the full library, the deeper guide, and the heads-up reminders pause. If you subscribe again later, everything is back as you left it — including everything you saved in Her Profile.
How do I restore Premium on a new phone or after reinstalling?
Open Settings → Subscription (or the Premium screen) and tap Restore purchases while signed in to the same Apple ID you subscribed with. The subscription is tied to that store account, so it comes back without any charge. Your cycle and profile data are stored only on the device, so those you enter again.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, because Apple is the merchant for every purchase. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and choose the CareDays subscription. We can't see your payment details or issue refunds ourselves — but if something went wrong in the app, email us and we'll help.
What does the subscription service know about me?
Only that a subscription exists. The app uses RevenueCat to verify purchases; it receives a random, anonymous ID generated on your phone (shown as the Support ID in Settings → Subscription), the purchase details from the store, and standard technical request data. It never receives cycle dates, Her Profile, or anything you type. Details are in our privacy policy.

Cost, account, and devices

How much does CareDays cost? Do I need an account?
There is no account or sign-up. The free plan never expires and always includes the current phase, the basics of every phase, one care idea a day, and a daily reminder. Premium is an optional subscription: $6.99 a month or $44.99 a year (about $3.75 a month), both with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, billed by the App Store in your local currency. Editing your cycle details and deleting your data are always free.
I got a new phone. Can I move my data?
Because nothing is stored in the cloud, the app can't transfer data between phones. On the new phone, install the app and enter the cycle details again — it takes about a minute. If you restored your whole device from a full backup, the app's data may come along with it. A Premium subscription does carry over: tap Restore purchases in Settings → Subscription while signed in to the same Apple ID.
Which languages and devices are supported?
The app is in English and runs on iPhone (iOS). An Android version is planned, and more languages may follow.
